Day 1 Munnar :
Arrive Cochin and the representative will meet and thereafter transfer to Munnar. Munnar - breathtakingly beautiful - a haven of peace and tranquility - the idyllic tourist destination in God's own country. Set at an altitude of 6000 ft in Idukki district, Munnar was the favored summer resort of the erstwhile British rulers in the colonial days. Unending expanse of tea plantations - pristine valleys and mountains- exotic species of flora and fauna in its wild sanctuaries and forests - aroma of spice scented cool air - yes! Check in to the hotel. Evening proceed for a sightseeing which includes a tea plantation visit. A walk through the tea plantation is really interesting. Back to the hotel and overnight stay.
Day 2 Munnar :
After breakfast continue with sightseeing which includes Eravikulam National Park, Rajamalai to watch Nilgiri Tahr. Afternoon proceed to Mattupetty Dam & Top station. Evening return to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 3 Houseboat :
Morning proceed to Aleppey to board the houseboat. A houseboat is about 67 feet in length and has a width of around 13 feet in the middle. The materials that go into the making are local and ecofriendly; bamboo poles, coconut fibre, ropes, bamboo mats, carpets etc. All of them have sundeck, private balcony with comfortable chairs, kitchen and toilet with w.c. In addition there is a separate rest room for the crew. Traditional lanterns are used as lights. The crew includes a chef, and two oarsmen. The cuisine is of traditional Kerala flavour. Palm fringed narrow canals winding through the vast expanse of paddy fields and the neat tiny hamlets lined up along either side of the canals are panoramic sight one can never forget. Check into the house boat, on the way watch Kerala typical villages, Coir making, Paddy fields etc. Enjoy the serene backwaters viewing the activities in the local villages on either side of the canals. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4 Cochin :
Checkout the houseboat and proceed to Cochin. Kochi or Cochin is a vibrant city situated on the south-west coast of the Indian peninsula, in the breathtakingly scenic and prosperous state of Kerala, dubbed 'God's Own Country'. Its strategic importance over the centuries is underlined by the sobriquet Queen of the Arabian Sea. Informally, Cochin is also referred to as the Gateway to Kerala. Check in to the hotel. Aftrernoon depart for a sightseeing trip of cochin which includes St. Francis Church, Mattancherry Palace, Jewish Synagogue etc. Evening proceed for a Kathakali program or sunset cruise. Overnight stay at Cochin.
Day 5 Departure :
Depart for airport/railway station for your onward destination
