Day 1 Munnar :
Arrive Cochin and the representative will meet and thereafter transfer to Munnar. Munnar - breathtakingly beautiful - a haven of peace and tranquility - the idyllic tourist destination in God's own country. Set at an altitude of 6000 ft in Idukki district, Munnar was the favored summer resort of the erstwhile British rulers in the colonial days. Unending expanse of tea plantations - pristine valleys and mountains- exotic species of flora and fauna in its wild sanctuaries and forests - aroma of spice scented cool air - yes! Check in to the hotel. Evening proceed for a sightseeing which includes a tea plantation visit. A walk through the tea plantation is really interesting. Back to the hotel and overnight stay.
Day 2 Munnar :
After breakfast continue with sightseeing which includes Eravikulam National Park, Rajamalai to watch Nilgiri Tahr. Afternoon proceed to Mattupetty Dam & Top station. Evening return to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 3 Thekkady :
Depart for thekkady, one of India's most fascinating natural wildlife sanctuaries, where you can watch wildlife at close range. The vegetation, the flora and fauna and the birds of Thekkady are uniquely rich, vast and varied that it does not bear semblance to any other wildlife sanctuaries in the world. Even a casual visitor to this place will not fail to observe the special ecological pattern of Thekkady. Check in to the resort. After lunch proceed for a spice plantation visit to visit cardamom, pepper, clove plantations. Evening back to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 4 Thekkady :
Morning proceed for a boat ride in the Periyar Lake to visit the Wildlife sanctuary. Back to the resort and overnight stay.
Day 5 Kovalam :
Proceed to Kovalam. "Kovalam" means a grove of coconut trees and true to its name the village offers an endless sight of coconut trees. The crescent-shaped beach has three parts. The southern most beach, and the most popular, is light house beach. It offers an amazing sight of Vizhinjam mosque. The northern Samudra is a laidback one and time seems stands still here. The middle, hawah, in the early day, is a beehive of activities with fishermen setting out for sea. With a high rock promontory and a calm bay of blue waters, this beach paradise creates a unique aquarelle on moonlit nights. Check in to the resort. Evening relax at the beach. Overnight stay at the resort.
Day 6 Kovalam :
Morning proceed for a city sightseeing of Trivandrum which includes Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple, Napier Museum, Sree Chitra Art Gallery, Veli Tourist Village, Sankhumugham beach, Zoo etc. Evening back to the resort for overnight stay.
Day 7 Houseboat :
Morning proceed to Aleppey to board the houseboat. A houseboat is about 67 feet in length and has a width of around 13 feet in the middle. The materials that go into the making are local and ecofriendly; bamboo poles, coconut fibre, ropes, bamboo mats, carpets etc. All of them have sundeck, private balcony with comfortable chairs, kitchen and toilet with w.c. In addition there is a separate rest room for the crew. Traditional lanterns are used as lights. The crew includes a chef, and two oarsmen. The cuisine is of traditional Kerala flavour. Palm fringed narrow canals winding through the vast expanse of paddy fields and the neat tiny hamlets lined up along either side of the canals are panoramic sight one can never forget. Check into the house boat, on the way watch Kerala typical villages, Coir making, Paddy fields etc. Enjoy the serene backwaters viewing the activities in the local villages on either side of the canals. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8 Kumarakom :
After breakfast the houseboat will drop you at a beautiful backwater resort at Kumarakom. The village of Kumarakom is a cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake, and is part of the Kuttanad region. The bird sanctuary here, which is spread across 14 acres is a favourite haunt of migratory birds and an ornithologist's paradise. Egrets, darters, herons, teal, waterfowl, cuckoo, wild duck and migratory birds like the Siberian stork that live here in flocks are a fascination for visitors. The best way to watch the birds of the Kumarakom sanctuary is a boat trip round the islands. Check in to the resort. Evening visit the bird sanctuary. Overnight stay at the resort.
Day 9 Kumarakom :
Continue the stay at Kumarakom.
Day 10 Cochin :
After breakfast proceed to Cochin. Kochi or Cochin is a vibrant city situated on the south-west coast of the Indian peninsula, in the breathtakingly scenic and prosperous state of Kerala, dubbed 'God's Own Country'. Its strategic importance over the centuries is underlined by the sobriquet Queen of the Arabian Sea. Informally, Cochin is also referred to as the Gateway to Kerala. Check in to the hotel. Aftrernoon depart for a sightseeing trip of cochin which includes St. Francis Church, Mattancherry Palace, Jewish Synagogue etc. Evening proceed for a Kathakali program or sunset cruise. Overnight stay at Cochin.
Day 11 Departure :
Depart for airport/railway station for your onward destination.
