Day 1 Wayanad - Vythiri :
Arrival Calicut. Transfer to Wayanad (Vythiri) - the green paradise - the border world of greener part of Kerala. Clean and pristine, enchanting and hypnotising this land has a history and mystery, culture and social epistemology yet to be discovered. Located at a distance about 76 km. from the sea shores of Calicut in the Western Ghats, this station is full of plantations, forests and wildlife. Wayanad hills are contiguous to Mudumala in Tamil Nadu and Bandhipur in Karnataka, thus forming a vast land mass for the wild life to move about in its most natural abode.The name Wayanad has been derived from the expression 'Vayal nadu' - the village of paddy fields. Day 2 Wayanad - Vythiri :
Morning proceed for sightseeing which includes a visit to Meenmutty waterfalls. Water falls to a depth of more than 500m. in 3 steps. After lunch visit Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary. Back to the resort for overnight stay.
Day 3 Wayanad - Vythiri :
Morning proceed for a visit to the Edakkal Caves - You can see a cave that is more than 5000 years old with stone age carvings. On the way back visit Wayanad Hermitage museum and Pookot lake (boating is possible here). Evening return to the resort for overnight stay.
Day 4 Calicut :
Kozhikode also famous as Calicut is the third largest city of Kerala. The place is famous as Vasco De Gama, first European to land on the Indian coasts, landed here in 1498 AD. A port city located amidst the lush green spice Plantations, Kozhikode takes you on a momentous journey through beautiful backwaters, picturesque beaches and ancient palaces. Check in to the hotel. Proceed for a short sightseeing which includes the beach, Beypore etc. Evening return to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 5 Cochin :
After breakfast proceed to Cochin. Kochi or Cochin is a vibrant city situated on the south-west coast of the Indian peninsula, in the breathtakingly scenic and prosperous state of Kerala, dubbed 'God's Own Country'. Its strategic importance over the centuries is underlined by the sobriquet Queen of the Arabian Sea. Informally, Cochin is also referred to as the Gateway to Kerala. Check in to the hotel. Aftrernoon depart for a sightseeing trip of cochin which includes St. Francis Church, Mattancherry Palace, Jewish Synagogue etc. Evening proceed for a Kathakali program or sunset cruise. Overnight stay at Cochin.
Day 6 Kumarakom :
Transfer to a backwater resort at Kumarakom. The village of Kumarakom is a cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake, and is part of the Kuttanad region. The bird sanctuary here, which is spread across 14 acres is a favourite haunt of migratory birds and an ornithologist's paradise. Egrets, darters, herons, teal, waterfowl, cuckoo, wild duck and migratory birds like the Siberian stork that live here in flocks are a fascination for visitors. The best way to watch the birds of the Kumarakom sanctuary is a boat trip round the islands. Check in to the resort. Evening visit the bird sanctuary. Overnight stay at the resort.
Day 7 Houseboat :
Morning proceed to Aleppey to board the houseboat. A houseboat is about 67 feet in length and has a width of around 13 feet in the middle. The materials that go into the making are local and ecofriendly; bamboo poles, coconut fibre, ropes, bamboo mats, carpets etc. All of them have sundeck, private balcony with comfortable chairs, kitchen and toilet with w.c. In addition there is a separate rest room for the crew. Traditional lanterns are used as lights. The crew includes a chef, and two oarsmen. The cuisine is of traditional Kerala flavour. Palm fringed narrow canals winding through the vast expanse of paddy fields and the neat tiny hamlets lined up along either side of the canals are panoramic sight one can never forget. Check into the house boat, on the way watch Kerala typical villages, Coir making, Paddy fields etc. Enjoy the serene backwaters viewing the activities in the local villages on either side of the canals. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8 Kovalam :
Arrival Trivandrum. Transfer to Kovalam. "Kovalam" means a grove of coconut trees and true to its name the village offers an endless sight of coconut trees. The crescent-shaped beach has three parts. The southern most beach, and the most popular, is light house beach. It offers an amazing sight of Vizhinjam mosque. The northern Samudra is a laidback one and time seems stands still here. The middle, hawah, in the early day, is a beehive of activities with fishermen setting out for sea. With a high rock promontory and a calm bay of blue waters, this beach paradise creates a unique aquarelle on moonlit nights. Check in to the resort. Evening relax at the beach. Overnight stay at the resort.
Day 9 Kovalam :
Morning proceed for a city sightseeing of Trivandrum which includes Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple, Napier Museum, Sree Chitra Art Gallery, Veli Tourist Village, Sankhumugham beach, Zoo etc. Evening back to the resort for overnight stay.
Day 10 Kovalam :
After breakfast proceed for a full day trip to Kanyakumari. Enroute visit Padmanabhapuram Palace, Suchindram Temple, Kumaracoil etc. Evening back to the resort for overnight stay.
Day 11 Departure :
Depart for airport/railway station for your onward destination.
